As the next phase of lockdown easing in England happens on 17th May, here’s why Coniston Boating Centre is the ideal place to enjoy time with your family and friends.
First let’s have a look at what is changing on 17th May in England:
If the government meets its targets for reducing Covid, it's planned that:
- People can meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors
- Six people or two households can meet indoors
- Domestic overnight stays allowed with people not in your household or bubble
- Pubs, restaurants and other hospitality venues can seat customers indoors
- Hotels, hostels and B&Bs can reopen
- Advice on social distancing between friends and family, including hugging, will be updated (but may not come into effect at this point)
Why your big reunion should be at Coniston Boating Centre
If, like us, you can’t wait to spend some decent time with the wider family and friends, then I bet you’re also thinking of where to host this get together. Now a garden will do, but then again it’s nice to have a change. A pub will also do, but this is the big get together…
How about an afternoon of having fun on Coniston Water?
That’s right, make it memorable! Whether you and your family and friends take a fleet of our electric motor boats out to cruise around Coniston water with ease, enjoying the fresh air in the middle of the lake away from those crowds, or if you fancy something a bit more energetic like paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing, Coniston is the perfect backdrop for that ‘everyone’s back together’ photo. Fuel up next door
For when you’re feeling peckish and need to refuel before or after your adventure, Bluebird Café ticks the boxes. Located right next to our jetty, Bluebird Café serves hearty dishes, delicious cakes and the perfect hot drinks. They also have a selection of local beers available for that celebratory pint. Oh, and it’s right on the lake shore so the views are stunning.
There’s beer gardens here too!
Despite what we said earlier, it’s good to have the pubs back open. Just a short walk from us is Coniston Village, home to a variety of pubs all serving local ales along with all your pub essentials. Coniston is situated at the foot of the Old Man of Coniston, so again, as far as backdrops go, you’ll struggle to find a better one for that Instagram.
