Coniston Boating Centre reopens for 2021!
That's right, we're Visit Britain approved 'Good to Go' and we can't wait to welcome you to the shores of Coniston Water
What's available and when?
From Saturday 29th March we will be hiring out our motor boats and rowing boats to single household groups and bubbles of up to 6 people (including children), keeping in line with government guidelines. As the weather and the water gets warmer we'll then start hiring out our paddle boards, canoes and kayaks. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for this announcement.

It's true, the time has finally arrived for some quality 'bubble' time in the great outdoors, so look no further than Coniston Water. Breathe in that fresh air, sit back and relax as you potter around the lake in our electric motor boats.

What we've been up to
Despite the lockdown, we've been busy in the workshop giving our boats some well deserved TLC. Although Covid 19 rules have presented some challenges with social distancing and part deliveries, we are delighted to have all of our motor boats back on the water, ready to take you on an adventure.

Trust us, we are as excited as you are to get you back on the water. In order to make it enjoyable for everyone, please have a good read of our booking pages whilst booking your boat.
The key things to know are:
- Online bookings only
- 1 hour maximum bookings
- Please give yourself enough time to park*
*We are unable to move your booking back as this will not give us enough time to sanitize the boat for our next customers. Remember there is more parking in Coniston village which is just a short walk away. Have a look at the Safer Lakes website for up to date parking information.
Government guidelines
When can recreational boating take place?
From the 8th March self drive day hire of boats is permitted for the purpose of open air recreation in a public outdoor place (the vessel must be open air) for single household/bubble only. From the 29th March self drive day hire of boats is permitted for 6 people / 2 households per boat if the vessel is open air.
